With Kids Personality Portraits, I work with you to create an environment where your child feels safe and relaxed so we can capture their unique personality. That means something different for every kid - some are outgoing and full of energy, while other are more quiet and reserved. I am a very patient person and love working with kids.

Every personality shoot is different and a unique experience, because every child is different. I will work with you before you come to the shoot to learn as much as I can about what your kid is like and come up with ideas specifically for them. Timeless Portraits

We might let the kids act silly, but these are timeless portraits. We use classic soft lighting techniques and a white seamless backdrop to really focus on your child. Instead of encouraging an artificial smile, we work to capture authentically joyful moments that really express their personality. The results are lifelong keepsakes that portray the true personality of your child at this moment in time.

• Preperation is Key

  A little bit of planning goes a long way. It is hard to be happy when you are hungry, so make sure your kid has a chance to eat before you arrive (and before they change into the outfit they will be wearing)!
  
  Please don’t bring food, snacks, or drinks to the studio, or even with you in the car. That is just a disaster waiting to happen.
  
  Right after you arrive, wipe your child’s face before getting out of the car. It’s best to get anything unpleasant done right away so they have a chance to get past it emotionally and be ready to have fun getting their picture taken once you are inside.

• Plan for a Fun Time

  Pack a few of their favorite toys or something that is important to them like a stuffed animal. Not only does this give your child something comforting to hold, but will also help them feel relaxed.
  
  Keep in mind that these items might end up in the pictures, but that is ok - they are important to your kid are are a part of who they are! I promise the pictures will look super cute.

• Make a Playlist Before You Come

  Please bring a playlist of your kid’s favorite music! A Spotify or youtube playlist works great. Dancing around is a great way to capture personality. We have a bluetooth speaker with a headphone jack.

• How Do You Get the Kids to Behave?

  These are personality portraits, so we are only asking them to be themselves!
  
  Also, bribery. I know, I know… but it works! Promising a trip to a nearby playground or their favorite treat after the shoot is always going to be exciting.

• What is the Minimum Age?

  We shoot with children as young as 2.

• Can you do Multiple Kids at the Same Time?

  Sibling personality photos are more challenging than individual kids, but I am willing to try!
  
  If you are wondering about booking multiple individual kids personality shoots for the same day, I do not recommend doing them back to back.

• What Should They Wear?

  I can help you come up with a color scheme so we avoid colors that clash. We also want to avoid images, logos, text, or anything else that might draw the eye or be distracting.
  
  Everybody (no matter what age!) looks their best in pictures when they have on clothing that feels familiar, that they are used to wearing.
  
  Finally, these pictures are all about your child, so we want to give them some input as well! I suggest picking out a few different outfits and letting them decide what they would like to wear out of that set of choices.
